In a strategic move that’s sure to capture the attention of military tech aficionados and firearms enthusiasts alike, Tikka, a renowned player in the bolt-action rifle arena, has significantly broadened its T3x lineup with the introduction of three distinct models: the Arctic, CTR M05, and Roughtech Ranch.

Unveiled in 2024, each model boasts a unique set of features catering to various field applications, including hunting, animal defense, and varmint control.

One of the more intriguing variants with a unique history is the Tikka T3x Arctic, the commercially available version of the Colt Canada C19.

The C19, a T3x variant produced under license, was designed for the Canadian Rangers, who used the venerable Lee-Enfield No. 4 rifle for subsistence hunting and bear defense in the Canadian Arctic until 2018.

The C19, chambered in .308 Win., features a detachable 10-round box magazine and replaced the No. 4 in service.

The Tikka T3x Arctic is constructed with a stainless-steel receiver and a 20″ stainless-steel barrel with a 5/8×24 TPI threaded muzzle.

Its open front sight is threaded onto the barrel’s muzzle and must be removed to attach a suppressor or other muzzle device.

At the rear, the Arctic features an adjustable rear aperture, and just ahead of it is a 0-m.o.a. Picatinny optics rail integrated into the receiver. The barreled action is housed in a birch laminate stock with orange and gray streaks.

The stock includes a rubber recoil pad, sling swivel studs, and stock spacers for adjustable fit. Additionally, the rifle comes with a two-stage trigger.

Another new offering is the Tikka T3x Compact Tactical Rifle (CTR) M05, which features a distinctive Finnish M05 Maastokuvio camouflage finish on its synthetic stock.

This stock offers modularity with an interchangeable grip component and a wide, interchangeable fore-end. It also includes a negative comb cheek riser to align the shooter’s eye with an optic mounted on the integrally machined Picatinny optics rail.

The rifle has a 20″ barrel with a “semi-heavy contour” and 5/8×24 TPI muzzle threads. Available in .308 Win., the CTR M05 is fed by a 10-round detachable magazine and includes a single-stage adjustable trigger.

Even more compact than the CTR is Tikka’s new T3x Roughtech Ranch, designed for ranch or farm use against varmints.

It features a short 16″ barrel with a threaded muzzle, available in either 1/2×28 or 5/8×24 TPI depending on the chambering. Unlike the Arctic and CTR M05, which are available only in .308 Win., the Roughtech Ranch comes in .223 Rem., .308 Win., or 350 Legend.

All versions are fed from a flush-fit, three-round detachable box magazine. The “Roughtech” name refers to the rough coating on the synthetic stock, providing shooters and hunters with added grip in harsh conditions.
