CQ Brown, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, who emphasized that the U.S. evaluates its own stockpiles and readiness before fulfilling weapon requests from allies. This cautionary stance comes after the Air Force ramped up JDAM purchases during the fight against the Islamic State but has since scaled back its procurement.
Boeing has a long-standing record with JDAMs, having produced more than 500,000 tail kits, which exemplifies the robust demand for this weapon system.
